- "Belva Thacker Fieldsted, 87, of Kirtland, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. She was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Charleston, Utah, the daughter of Rawlins Thacker and Zella Wright.
Belva loved gardening roses, but her real love was cooking and making food beautiful for her family and friends. She was always taking her famous bread and rolls to the sick or providing for all church functions. Belva's greatest love was making homemade bread for dad so he could have bread and milk. She loved her family, she loved her faith and she loved our dad. Belva served as the president of the Stake Relief Society for the Young Stake of New Mexico for over 15 years. Belva will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Belva leaves behind her husband of 72 years, Don C. Fieldsted, of Kirtland; a son Dennis Don Fieldsted and wife, Rose; daughters, Sherry Ann Allen and husband, (OT) of Sumitavi, Ala., Glenda B. Brady and husband, Brent, of Kirtland, and Dorothy G. Abbott; and husband, Ray of Rio Rancho; sister Veda Jorgenson of Vernal, Utah; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rawlins and Zella Thacker, seven brothers, five sisters and a grandson, Garrett Lloyd Fieldsted.
A closed casket visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 479 Road 6100 in Kirtland.
Funeral services for Belva will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, at the church, with Bishop Marion Wells conducting.
Interment will follow in the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery. ..."
