"Earl C. North, 86, of Usquepaugh Road, West Kingston formerly of North Kingstown, died yesterday at the Roberts Health Center, North Kingstown. He was the husband of the late Bertha I. (Tingley) North.
Born in Newport, he lived most his life in North Kingstown, the son of the late Carl and Otilia (Sorensen) North. He was a retired truck driver for the former New England Transportation Co., Pawtucket and was last employed as a night watchman at Providence Gas Co., Exeter, retiring in 1986.
He was a former member of the Coast Guard, which he left to join the First Class of the R.I. State Police for a short time. He was a life member of South Kingstown Lodge 1899 B.P.O.E., Washington Lodge #5, F.&A.M., North Kingstown, and a life member of the Wickford Club.
He is survived by two sons, a daughter, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Barbara A. Blair."

"Earl C. North died September 26, 2018 at Lebanon Center Genesis in Lebanon, NH. Earl was born October 11, 1928 in Newport, RI a son of Earl and Bertha (Tingley) North.
He graduated from Wickford High School in North Kingstown, RI Class of 1945. Earl immediately joined the Army and was stationed in post-war Germany, then served in the Korean War, and again was stationed in Germany, this time as a member of the 7th Army Symphony.
Upon his honorable discharge he used the GI Bill to attend Capital University in Columbus, OH, majoring in bassoon performance. This is where he married his soul mate Mae Mararian on July 7, 1956. They had met when they were both stationed at Ft Leavenworth, KS.
Earl went on to pursue a masters in music performance from Indiana University and later the University of Vermont. The family moved to Canaan in 1963. He arranged and published music for class use. He also taught private lessons at the Upper Valley Music Center and taught at Newport and Mascoma Valley Regional High Schools.
Earl continued to serve his country in the Army National Guard, retiring as a Sergeant 1st Class in 1993. Mae died in 2017.
Earl was an instrumental member of Rails to Trails, helping organize and convert old railways into usable trail throughout the state. He was a friend of Cardigan Mountain. Earl was passionate about music and was a member of two local quartets the Cadenza Woodwind Quartet and Sunflower Quartet and several area Chamber Groups.
Earl is survived by daughter Bonnie M. North of Milwaukee, WI, son Carl "Chris" North of Newport, RI, and sister Margaret Kenyon of North Kingstown, RI."

"Everett Harvey North, “Bud”, 85, formerly of Potowomut, passed away July 22, 2015. Born June 20, 1930, survived by Audrey (Schurman) North, his loving wife of 60 years, son of the late Earl C. and Bertha (Tingley) North, brother of Margaret Kenyon of South Kingstown, and Earl C. North, Jr. of Caanan, NH, father of Brenda Flamand (David) of Spencer, MA and Charles Schurman North (Terri) of Jamestown. He was known as “Boppa” to his five grandsons, Brian, David, Joshua, Gregory & Benjamin and his two great grandsons, Riley & Wesley. He was the brother of the late Barbara Blair.
He graduated from North Kingstown High School, served in the army for four years, seven years at Quonset Point and 23 years as General Manager at Atlas Terminal Company. He was a realtor with Caldwell Banker and Certified Appraiser, Real Estate Division of the Department of Transportation for the State of RI. He was a member of the American Legions Posts # 12 & #15, Board of Realtors Association, past members of the Providence Central & Warwick Lions Clubs, Executives Association of Providence, and the East Greenwich Veterans Fireman's Association. He enjoyed tennis, golf, biking and the outdoors. He was meticulous about his yard and took great pride in his home in Potowomut. In his spare time he loved to play with his dog Jackie.
