"Boyd F. Whitlock, age 82, passed away on February 21, 2001 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born September 19, 1919, in Mayfield, Utah to Frank and Ida Scow Whitlock.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Nielsen who passed away in September of 1983.
He is survived by his son, Errol (Carol) of Mapleton, UT; two brothers, Dale Whitlock of Mesa, AZ.; George Cleon Whitlock of Yelm, WA; and sister, Zelda Anderson of Provo, UT. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Rod (Shaunnie) Whitlock of Springville, UT; Debbie Whitlock of Draper, UT, Kerri (Dave) Hood of Mapleton; and four great-grandchildren.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a counselor in a bishopric, Young Men's presidency, high priest group leader and as a temple ordinance worker in the Mesa LDS Temple. He served in World War II in various European countries. He was the happiest as he drove in his car along any scenic highway. He loved dancing and music and in his later years could often be heard humming or singing his favorite songs of the 40's and 50's.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 26, 2001 at 12 noon in the Centerfield 2nd LDS Ward chapel, where friends may call on Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Centerfield Cemetery with military rites by the Oliver Russell American Legion Post #105. Funeral directors, Magleby-Jensen Mortuary of Salina and Gunnison."
