    Alice Bouvang Peterson of Cedar City, Utah passed away on April 29, 2015 in Alpine, Utah. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was born on March 4, 1927 in Centerfield, Utah. She was the second child born to Elgin and Elma Fjeldsted Bouvang. She grew up on a farm east of Centerfield and learned the value of hard work at an early age. Her family later moved to Gunnison, Utah where she graduated from Gunnison High School and attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. When she returned home, she met and fell in love with her eternal companion Merrill Roger Peterson of Redmond, Utah. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on February 10, 1947 and lived in Redmond for 10 years.
    They moved to Cedar City in 1957 where they raised their family. They were blessed with five children: Marilyn Robinson (Paul), Janet McDaniel (Kirk), Lee Peterson (Ellen), Ivan Peterson (Jill), and Barbara Peterson Bassett. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merrill, her sister and brother-in-law Madge and Vernon Peterson, and her brother Vernon Bouvang. She is survived by her children, a sister Fay Hampton (Merrill), a sister-in-law Rene Bouvang, a sister-in-law Shirley Curtis, 21 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.
    She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as a ward Primary President, Stake Primary President, ward Relief Society President, and counselor in the Stake Relief Society Presidency. Alice and her husband Merrill served as temple workers in the St. George Temple for nine years and served a mission for the LDS Church in the Cleveland Ohio Mission. She was very active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Ladies Lions Club. She will be remembered for her wonderful pies, cakes, cinnamon rolls, roast beef dinners, homemade bread, and her special chicken and dumpling soup.
    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cedar City 9th Ward Chapel, 256 S 900 W. Viewings will be Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 6-7:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 N 300 W in Cedar City, Utah and also prior to the funeral service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
    The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at River Meadows Assisted Living in Alpine and to the staff at Emerald Pointe Assisted Living in Cedar City for their compassion and service given to Alice during the last few years of her life.

    "Vernon A. Bouvang 1929 ~ 2006 Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2006. Vernon was born July 7, 1929 in Centerfield, Utah to Elgin and Elma Matilda Bouvang. He married Renee DeMill on April 21, 1950 in the Manti Temple. He served his country in the Korean War from 1952 - 1954. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Madge Peterson, and a brother-in-law Vernon Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Renee; sons Blake (Becky) and Brent (Shelly); sisters Alice (Merrill) Peterson and Fay (Merrill) Hampton; and grandchildren Katelyn, Ashton, Victoria, Dillon and Sydney. Vernon retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, AFS, at the Salt Lake City International Airport in 1992. Following his retirement he spent many enjoyable hours working at the Eaglewood Golf Course. He enjoyed repairing things and the family always knew, "Grandpa can fix that". Prior to his recent illness, he was an ordinance worker in the Bountiful LDS Temple. He and Renee traveled extensively following retirement, and also enjoyed spending time in Bear Lake and St. George. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the Bountiful 28th Ward, 2285 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday evening, September 7, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and Friday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.     "Redmond, Utah - Fay Bouvang Hampton, age 82, of Redmond, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, on May 26, 2015.
    She was born July 23, 1932 in Centerfield, Utah to Elgin and Elma Matilda Fjeldsted Bouvang. She was the youngest of four children. She and her family enjoyed farm life with no electricity or running water as she grew up. She learned the value and blessing of hard work and depending on the Lord.
    Her family later moved to Gunnison, Utah where she graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, class of 1951.
    She married the love of her life, Merrill C. Hampton in the Manti LDS Temple, November 2, 1951. Merrill and Fay lived their entire married life in Redmond, Utah where they were blessed with four children.
    Fay was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as stake and ward Relief Society President, Primary President, Primary teacher, and in the scouting program. Fay and Merrill served as ordinance workers in the Manti, Utah Temple. They also served a mission at the Sigurd Bishop’s Storehouse.
    She loved serving with the DUP and Legion Auxiliary organizations. Fay and Merrill were the recipients of the Utah Commission of Marriage, “Gold Medal Marriage Recognition” award in February 2008.
    Everything she did centered around her family and trying to live a Christ-like life. She loved to support her children and grandchildren in their activities and looked for teaching moments to share the gospel as they spent time together. Family meant everything to her.
    Fay is survived by her husband, Merrill, children: Keith and Patsy Hampton, Terri Lyn and Burke Williams, all of Redmond, Cynthia and Marlin Mason of Ephraim, and daughter-in-law: Nancy Hampton of Redmond; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Renee Bouvang.
    Fay was preceded in death by her son Kevin; her parents; sister and brother-in-law: Madge and Vernon Peterson; brother: Vernon Bouvang; sister and brother-in-law: Alice and Merrill Peterson.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Redmond 1st LDS Ward chapel, 310 West 100 North, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.
    Interment will be in the Redmond City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.

    "Our wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, Kevin Elgin Hampton, age 50, of Redmond, passed away peacefully in his home in Redmond, surrounded by his family, who adored him, after a valiant battle with cancer.
    Kevin was born June 27, 1964 in Gunnison, Utah, a son of Merrill C. and Fay Bouvang Hampton. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1982. He attended Utah State University in the Dairy Herdsman Program for 1 year.
    Kevin married his best friend and the love of his life, Nancy Rich, May 9, 1986 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with five wonderful children and six grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Nothing meant more to him than his children and grandchildren and supporting them in their activities.
    Kevin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in the Philippines and had a great love for the people there. He had many callings in the church, including Scoutmaster, Young Men's President, High Council Member and was currently serving as the Bishop of the Redmond 2nd LDS Ward. His heart was filled with love for those he served.
    Kevin spent his life working with family in their farming business, Hampton Farming and Livestock. Kevin was lucky enough to spend his time farming and ranching with the family he loved. He always felt so blessed to be able to have his children and other family members spending time together as they milked cows, put up crops and gathered cows off the mountain. Some of his favorite things to do with family were hunting, fishing and riding horses together.
    Kevin was a peacemaker and always thought of others before himself. He had many friendships he cherished. He considered the gospel, family and friends the most important things in his life. He was a great example to all who knew him.
    He made many lasting friendships through his fight with cancer. He always saw the blessings he received through the people he met. He was optimistic, encouraging to others, and deeply cared about the friends he made.
    The family wishes to thank the many doctors and nurses who took care of him, the community that rallied to support him, and the encouragement and love shown to him by everyone.
    Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of Redmond; children: Tyler and Amie Hampton of Redmond; Megan and Jesse Shetler of Park City; Marlee Hampton, Trent Hampton and Lance Hampton, all of Redmond; 6 grandchildren: Levi, Kolton, Jace, Leighton, Taylor and Sabrina; his parents, Merrill and Fay Hampton of Redmond; brother and sisters: Keith and Patsy Hampton, Terrilyn and Burke Williams, all of Redmond; Cynthia and Marlin Mason of Ephraim; and his mother-in-law: Gail Rich of St. Charles, Idaho.
    He was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Glenn Rich.
    Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 at 12 Noon in the Redmond 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.
