    Nekrolog:
"Jack Christian Flynn, loving husband, father, and friend, left us to rejoin his Father in Heaven and his first born son Jack Kelly, whose death preceded his. He passed away on February 16, 2009 due to complications caused by diabetes.
He was born March 28, 1936 to Barney and Ila Flynn in Nevada City, CA.
Growing up in Salt Lake City, he excelled in every sport he undertook, and won many trophies at the old Elks Boys Club. He attended South High School, where in 1954 "Jackie" met and married his sweetheart, Rosalind Olsen, daughter of the prominent Utah artist, and concert-violinist for the Utah Symphony, Donald Olsen.
He spent much of their early years of marriage in the US Army, where after five years, he reached the rank of sergeant and was honorably discharged. He was always grateful for his years of service, as much of his future success was due to his electronics training in the Army.
He was especially proud of his civilian work as a radar technician at Cape Canaveral during NASA's Gemini project. His military service and employment in the electronics industry took him to all parts of the country where his children were born in five different states, including Arizona, where he completed a college degree.
He finally led his family back to Salt Lake where he spent the latter part of his life and completed his career in the computer sales industry. Having a successful career and being a top salesman wasn't enough.
He still found time to write books, act in and write plays, and even compose, sing, and record a country music album. He was a man of deep faith, who voluntarily served in many positions in his church, including Sunday School teacher, and Scoutmaster.
He will always be remembered for being a dynamic, outgoing, ultra competitive individual who never gave up an easy lay-up or passed up an opportunity to foul hard. He loved to dance and was always the first one on the dance floor.
However, he was at his best, while with his children playing basketball and tennis, hiking, running rivers, watching Jazz basketball, or rooting for his favorite football teams; Notre Dame, and the University of Utah.
Always very proud of his Irish heritage, he instilled that pride in his children and led them annually in the Salt Lake City St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Jack is survived by his wife, Rosalind, their daughters Debby Bruni (Ray), Kathleen Steck (Randy), and Shannon; their sons Kevin (Becky), Michael (Lisa), Randy (Kami), Sean (Cynthia) and Patrick (Betsy); 38 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his brother Gerald and sisters Bonnie and Ilene.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay Memorial Park at 4900 South Memory Lane (access from 4800 South, East of the former Cottonwood Mall), followed by an Irish wake to celebrate his life, at the LDS gym at 5913 South Highland Drive.
