    Nekrolog:
"Robert "Sonny" Johnson, North Dakota Veterans Home Lisbon ND, passed away January 25th 2022. Sonny was born on December 1, 1927 in Nome, ND to parents Fred and Laura Johnson. He was one of 8 children that grew up on the family farm outside of Lucca North Dakota. He enjoyed spending his days with his siblings especially his brother Victor who got into their fair share of shenanigans.
Sonny wore many hats in his 94 year lifetime, all of which he was proud of. Sonny was drafted into the Air Force in November 1945 and rose to the role of Sergeant in the Air Force Command as a weapon classroom and range instructor at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver Colorado. Sonny was honored to serve his country and was very proud of the WWII Victory Medal he was given. Sonny returned home from the service to take over the Johnson family farm and start his career as a conductor and brakeman for the SOO line railroad.
Sonny was very social and loved to visit with every person he came across, but his true joy came from spending time with animals. He would take in any stray that ever crossed his path. Sonny enjoyed making home-made ice cream for any gathering big or small. He loved to tinker with things and could fix almost anything. He loved to fix small engines and displayed them at Sodbuster Days for many years. He loved woodworking as well, and would build replicas of buildings, churches, and barns from memory or would build many different types of bird houses which are still displayed around the Veterans Home.
Sonny was preceded in death by 2 brothers, George and Fritz, 4 sisters, Annie, Clara, Violet and Ethel, his wife Thelma, and 2 sons Jim (Faith) and Steve (Cheryl).
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his brother Victor Johnson; brother in-law Don Wischer; his son Michael Johnson; and daughter Sharon Holt (William); 7 grandchildren, Adam (Annie), and Timm Johnson, Tracy Bergeman (Dan), Crissy Wolfe, Natalie, Matt, and Sarah Steidl; and 9 great grandchildren Tyler and Marshall Wolfe, Autumn and Garrett Harland, Gaberiel, Bella, and Alyssa Steidl (Brett), and Skylar and Levi Johnson.
There will no funeral service at this time. A graveside service will be planned in the spring. He will be laid to rest in the Enderlin Cemetery." (Gengivet i Finsgarve.com, med portrætfoto)
