Gravsten: 'Here was buried Juda may he reside in security, and the Lion (Arie = Lion is synonym for Juda) hidden in a rock cave; the upright and honorable khr"r Judaleib bar Jacob halevi, who heroic as a lion circumcised hundreds of sons of the Hebrews and passed through Ju da (chalaf bijehuda' also: the (circumciser's) knife in Juda('s hands)) and did charity and good deeds in honesty; 'and it was in the end' 'and Juda approached' 'and he lived' for 42 years, (text according to the names of 3 consecutive portion s of weekly Torah-readings from the book Exodus), and he was gathered to his people in his full adornment 'Juda became his sanctuary' on Wednesday 19 Shevat 466 (3 Feb 1706), may his soul be bundled in the bundle of life."
