"Dale Vance Sorense was born September 21, 1908, at Boelus, Nebraska, to Alfred and Marie Mattie Simmsen Sorensen and died March 23, 1986, at Omaha, Nebraska.
Dale was raised in the Cairo, Nebraska area and graduated from high school at Cairo. Hr worked for a time in the Bank of Cairo and at the age of 19, he went to work for First National Bank of Gordon, Nebraska.
On September 2, 1933 he was married to Anna Dam in Gordon. He served in the army during WWII in the paymasters office. Following his discharge, he was in the implement business in Gordon for a few years before attending the school of banking in Washington State and working for the Seattle First in Moses Lake, Washington.
In 1953, they moved to Gering, Nebraska, where he was president of the Commercial National Bank. In 1962 he bacame president of the Commerviial National Bank of Ainsworth. He retired in 1977 after fifty years in the banking business. His wife Anna died Nov 24, 1979.
Dale was married to Carolyn Schippiporeit in Ainsworth, July 25, 1980. He was an avid hunter, sportsman and traveller.He was a 56 years member of Arcaba Masonic Lodge #195 at Gordon and a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion at Ainsworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna, and two brothers, Wes and Wayne Sorensen.
Survivores include his wife Carolyn, Ainsworth, two sisters in law, Helen Sorensen and Maxine Sorensen, both of Cairo, nieces, Mrs Bob (Ruth) Larson, Cairo, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Heckman, Cairo, Mrs Bill (Joyce) Heger, Grand Island; one nephew, Gordie Sorensen, Cairo, and other relatives.
Gravesite rites were held Mar. 26, 1986, at 2:00 p.m. at The Gordon, Nebraska Cemetery with final rites conducted by the Arcana Masonic Lodge #195 AF & AM of Gordon."
