He was born in Easton, MD, on June 25, 1933, the son of John Carroll Rood, Sr. and Catherine Covey Rood. John served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps. during the Korean War and the Vietnam War retiring after 35 years as an E-9 Sergeant Major. A Committal Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Landing Road, Jacksonville, NC. In recognition of John’s honorable and faithful service to his country the United States Marine Corps. Honor Guard will present a Rendering of Full Military Honors." (Gengivet i Findagrave.com)
