Death of Emil Lykke.
The many friends were shocked to learn this morning of the death of Emil Lykke, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Lykke, which occurred at 5?15 this morning. There were many who did not even know that the young man was sick. He had been ailing for some time but was able to be up town last week. Sunday night he suddenly became unconscious and never revived. He has ever since been lying in a critical condition. A consultation of physicians was held and the cause of death was pronounced to be acute Bright's disease.
Emil Lykke, who was 27 years of age was born in Grand Island and has always made his home here. He is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Lykke and was well known here. After finishing school he took up the carpenter trade and has been working at this for a number of years. Besides his parents he leaves two sisters and two brothers to mourn his loss. The deceased was a member of the Danish Brotherhood. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon from the home at 410 West Tenth street, the exact time not having been set as yet.

The funeral of Emil Lykke, which occurred yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, was very largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Lipe of the English Lutheran church. Both the Danish Brotherhood and the Carpenter's Union, of which the deceased was the financial secretary, attended in a body. The Danish Brotherhood, it is reported, has the largest attendance of a lodge, ever to turn out at a funeral. A wealth of floral tributes was displayed." (Gengivet i Findagrave.com)
