- "Delbert D. Braesch, 71, of Arlington died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Braesch was born May 19, 1932, in Bennington. He grew up in Douglas County in Nebraska and was a 1949 graduate of Bennington High School. He married Margaret Puls on May 25, 1952, in Bennington. After his marriage, the couple lived at Elkhorn until 1954 and moved to Arlington in August 1958. He owned and operated Hooper Transfer from April 1958 until 1971 and then drove truck for Valley Transfer of Elkhorn until 1974. He was employed at Valley Products Metal Manufacturing (now Valmont) at Valley for 23 years until retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Arlington Community Church and former member of the Arlington Fire Department for many years. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Survivors include: his wife; three sons, Thomas (and wife, Cindi) Braesch of Fremont, Robert (and wife, Carole) Braesch of Grand Island and Bryan (and wife, Luzviminda) Braesch of San Diego; a daughter, Robin (Mrs. Pete) Rix of Fremont; his mother, Jorgena Luschen of Fremont; two brothers, Duane (and wife, Helen) Braesch of Bennington and Richard (and wife, Bessie) Braesch of Windsor, Colo.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Arlington Community Church in Arlington with the Rev. Shirley Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church.
