- "Phyllis Lorraine (Slater) Hoier, 86 of Fort Lupton, CO, previously of Sterling, died January 11, 2018. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm on Tuesday, January 16 at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, January 17 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sterling with Rev. Michelle Witherspoon officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Phyllis was born January 29, 1931 to Frank and Rosa May (Guipre) Slater in Merino, CO. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1949. On November 29, 1950, she married LaVerne Hoier at the First Presbyterian Church in Sterling. They were married for 59 years. They farmed northeast of Iliff for 8 years until they moved to the Shaffer farm where they farmed for 35 years before retiring and moving to Sterling. Phyllis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sterling. She loved gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking and taking care of her husband, LaVerne and children.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Diana Maher of Hudson, Dan Hoier of Colorado Springs, Debbie (Greg) Damm of Broadus, MT; grandchildren, Angela Maher, Amy (Josh) Pralle, Dana (Doug) Sutton, Curtis Damm, Nicholas (Cara) Hoier and Taylor Hoier; and 6 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Adam Sutton, Maddy, Macy and Mallory Pralle and Eli Damm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne, her parents, and siblings, Allie Slater, Gladys Slater, Maude Slater, Floyd Slater, Guy Slater, Birdie Slater, Maxine Slater, Thomas Slater, William Slater, Herman Slater and Robert Slater...." (Gengivet i Findagrave.com)
