MRS. JENS HOIER PASSES AWAY ON NOVEMBER 23
Mrs. Amelia Hoier, wife of Jens Hoier, died at her home near Kennard on Thursday, November 23, of leakage of the heart.
Amelia Nielsen was born in Blair November 3, 1882, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris S. Nielsen, of this city, and had spent her entire life in Washington county, where she was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoier were married Sept. 8, 1899.
Mrs. Hoier had been in ill health for some time and her death was not wholly unexpected. She was 40 years and 20 days old at the time of her passing. There survives to mourn her death, her husband, ten children, ranging from 22 years to 17 days old, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Nielsen; one brother, Chris of Sioux City, and seven sisters, Mrs. Andrew Hoier, Mrs. Chris Gutschow, Mrs. Carl Graverholt, Mrs. Marion Stricklett, Mrs. Henry Peterson, Mrs. Thorwal Jurgensen and Miss Minnie Nielsen, all residing in this county, and all of whom, with the exception of her brother, were with her when the end came.
The children are, Leon, aged 22; Alice, 20; Edward, 18; Myrtle, 16; Marie, 14; Mildred, 11; Jorgena, 9; Elna, 5; Lillian, 3; and the three weeks old baby boy. Rev. Rasmussen preached the funeral discourse.
Funeral services were held on Sunday and interment was made at Kennard.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the sorrowing relatives.

Mrs. Jens Hoier, who lived on the old Towne farm west of Kennard, died very suddenly last Thursday afternoon. Three weeks ago she gave birth to a child and she didn't recover rightly. The funeral was held at the Danish church in Kennard last Sunday afternoon, Rev. Jos. Rasmussen officiating.
Besides her husband she leaves ten children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Nielsen, of this city, seven sisters and one brother. Amelia Nielsen was born in this city November 3rd, 1882, and was, therefore, just past 40 years of age. She was married to Jens Hoier September 8th, 1899.

MRS. JENS HOIER
Amelia Nelson was born in Blair, Nebraska Nov. 8, 1882, and died at her home near Arlington Nov. 23, 1922. She was married Sept. 8, 1899 to Mr. Jens Hoier, and to them were born ten children, three boys and seven girls, the oldest being a young man of 22 years and the youngest a babe three weeks.
She had been ailing for some time, but at no time was considered dangerous, and the end came following a sudden collapse.
The funeral services were held Sunday at the Danish church in Kennard at 2 p.m., and interment made in the Blair cemetery.
Besides the grief-stricken husband and ten children, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Nelson of Blair and seven sisters and a brother.
The Enterprise extends sincere sympathy to the grief-stricken husband and family. "
