- "Jorgine N. "Jennie" Graverholt, 95, of Stanwood, Wash., formerly of Blair, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, in Stanwood.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 31, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Jorgine N. "Jennie" Nielsen was born Oct. 28, 1902, in Blair to Chris and Jorgine Nielsen, the youngest child of a large family. She spent most of her life in Washington County.
When she was eight years old, the family moved to Denmark for two years but returned to Blair where they lived and owned a butcher shop and grocery store across the street from the old post office. Here she spent most of her time going to school and helping out at the butcher shop.
In 1920, she married Carl Graverholt. They were farmers in Washington County until 1975 when they moved to Blair because of Carl's failing health. They moved into their new home in 1975.
Mr. Graverholt died in April of 1976.
Mrs. Graverholt lived in Blair until May of 1987, when she moved to Stanwood, Wash., to be with her only son, William, and his wife.
Survivors include her son, William, and wife; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; seven sisters, Amelia Hoier, Kristen Hoier, Marie Gutschow, Sophie Petersen, Anna Stricklett, Elizabeth Jorgensen, Minnie Nielsen and one brother, Chris Nielsen." (Også gengivet i Findagrave)
