- "Stan Fieldsted 1928 ~ 2005 Few farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, God called you home to heaven, as you quietly sent out your love then took your wings to fly. Stanley E. Fieldsted, age 76, died Thursday, June 2, 2005. He was born in Boneta, Utah October 24, 1928 the son of William Fieldsted and Velma Annie Erickson. After growing up in Boneta, Stan met the love of his life, and in 1948 married Dorothy Jane Mecham, with whom he shared 57 loving adventurous years. Stan and Dorothy left Boneta and moved to Salt Lake City, then settled in the beautiful Heber Valley where Stan worked in construction as a business owner and entrepreneur in Charleston. Stan enjoyed business and sharing his expertise and wisdom teaching his children and grandchildren the value of working hard. Stan loved his family and took good care of them, leaving behind a wonderful legacy. For Stan, nothing beat a good debate or figuring out a solution to an interesting challenge. You could always count on an opinion and a lively debate during visits at the Fieldsted home. Stan loved the great outdoors, camping, and doing a little prospecting. Most of the time he focused on his business, Deer Creek Enterprises, making friends from customers and teaching his grandkids the elements of business. He leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy of 57 years; his four children, Lonnie (Monica) of Mariposa, CA, Mauna (Todd) Valdez of Midway, Doug (Diane) of Mariposa, CA, Keven (Tawnya) of Heber City; two brothers, Harry and Robert of Altamont; sister, Flora Allred of Roosevelt; and all of his wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A family memorial service will be held Monday, June 6, 2005 in Boneta, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The American Heart Association. ..."
