- "Georgia M. Fieldsted Lyons, age 82, of Mountain Home, died January 24, 2007 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center in Roosevelt.
She was born February 25, 1924 in Castle Gate, Utah to George and Dorothy Leora Law Fjeldsted.
She married Benjamin Lyons November 28, 1939 in Duchesne. Ben died December 30, 1986.
Georgia was a great mother who loved her family and especially her grandkids. When she was younger she used to sing with a group that would perform around the area. She loved to watch sports—football, baseball, basketball, horse racing, ice and figure skating, and with her daughter, Lynne, had been to the Ice Capades in Salt Lake City. She loved to "take a ride." She loved fresh fish and received great joy when Ben would bring her a nice mess of fish from the river for breakfast and she said that to her "happiness was making coffee over an open fire." She was a great cook and especially made great fried chicken. Georgia was the Tupperware dealer in the area for many years.
She had a great sense of humor, loved a good joke, had a quick wit and was loved by everyone. Christmas was her favorite holiday and everyone around her enjoyed it because of her enthusiasm.
She is survived by children, Richard B (Geri) Lyons, Plain City; Peggy L. (Buzz) Shiner, Hurricane; Betty Jo (Bob) Stewart, Evanston, WY; Kim (Kathleen) Lyons, Eagle, CO; and Belva Lynne Lyons, Mountain Home; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Don (Belva) Fieldsted, Kirtland, NM; Max (Nedra) Farnsworth, Mtn.
