- "Farrell Anthony Markham, age 76, of Altamont, passed away July 7, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 26, 1937, in Salt Lake City, to John Carlos and Ruth Anderson Markham. He married Madeline Rae Millett and they had two children, Angela Rae and Michael Raymond. They later divorced. He then married Melba Rae Rust on May 1, 1965, in Mountain Home. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple on December 18, 1976. They had three children, Wendi, Brenda, and JoAnn. Farrell entered the United States Navy at the end of the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in the South Pacific on the USS Henderson. He then worked as a carpenter, building homes, furniture and schools. He loved to work with his hands and always had a project. He carved intricate wood designs, tooled leather, oil painted, and drew. His favorite pastime was fishing" if you didn't know where he was you could always find him casting into a body of water. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Sunday School president and as a High Priest Group Secretary. He was also an Altamont Town Councilman who was over the city park and was instrumental in getting the first playground there. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be deeply missed. Farrell is survived by his wife Melba, of Altamont; daughters, Wendi (Chris) Lloyd, Roosevelt; Brenda Markham, Altamont; JoAnn (Chad) Hill, Roosevelt; his son from his first marriage, Michael Raymond; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Martha) Markham, Grand Junction; sisters, Jeanette (Mike) Anderson, Carol (Brent) Barney, both of Salt Lake City; Marilyn (Ron) Ogden, Phoenix, AZ; Elaine (John) Morgan, Cheri Johnson (Steve Ross), both of Salt Lake City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter with his first wife, Angela Ray Smith; sister Marlene Markham, nephew Johnny Markham; niece Jennifer Morgan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Altamont LDS Stake Center where a viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.!
