  "Beloved wife, sister and aunt, Marion Esther Fjeldsted Peterson, passed away May 29, 1995 in Provo, Utah. She was born in Centerfield, Utah December 15, 1923 to Gilbert L. and Ruby Elizabeth Roylance Fjeldsted. She married James A. Peterson February 14, 1946. Marion graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, where she received a letter in music, and Henagers Business College. Her passion was the arts and she devoted considerable time to the support of the arts in Sevier County. Marion loved attending performances of the Utah Opera Company and Ballet West. She was active in several women's clubs in Salina. She also served in several LDS Stake and Ward positions in the Primary and MIA organizations. Marion loved and was very active in politics. She served as the Sevier County Democratic vice chairman for 12 years, and as Utah State vice chairman for six years. She worked in the Utah House of Representatives as a clerk and the Utah State Senate as docket clerk. Marion worked on numerous state committees and on campaigns for many Democratic candidates throughout the state. She is listed in "Who's Who in Politics in America", and was a delegate to several Democratic National Conventions. Marion worked for many years with her father in his insurance agency and continued the business after his death. A devoted wife and daughter, she spent unlimited time caring for her parents and assisting Jim. Family members remember her many kindnesses through the years. She is survived by her husband, Jim, and two sisters, Jean Mounteer and GilBerta Hendrickson, 17 nieces and nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 2, at 11 a.m. in the Gunnison City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Marion's name to the Disabled American Veterans, 273 East 800 South, S.L.C., Utah 84111."
