- "Harry Leo Averett Centerfield, Utah Harry Leo Averett "Uncle Leo" loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, passed away on September 21st 2010 at his home in Centerfield, Utah after a valiant battle with cancer; surrounded by his loving family. Leo was born September 4th, 1934, in Salina, Utah to Thomas Issac and Estella Sorenson Averett. Leo married Verna Hansen on September 11th, 1953 in the Manti Utah Temple. Together they were blessed with three wonderful children, Brad Leo Averett, Tammy (Joseph) Leistman, Nephi, Utah, Michele (Steven) Peterson, Magna, Utah. Leo and Verna were also blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Leo was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully in many callings. "Uncle Leo" worked for Barney Trucking for 35 years as a truck driver. Leo was a very loving, caring and giving person who possessed the patience of Job. Leo is survived by his wife Verna, daughters, sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister in laws, brother in laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, son, brother Author Leon, sisters Arliene, Donna and JoBerta. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25th, 2010, at 12 noon in the Centerfield First Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel, in Centerfield, on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the ward chapel on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery.
