- "Vernon A. Bouvang 1929 ~ 2006 Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2006. Vernon was born July 7, 1929 in Centerfield, Utah to Elgin and Elma Matilda Bouvang. He married Renee DeMill on April 21, 1950 in the Manti Temple. He served his country in the Korean War from 1952 - 1954. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Madge Peterson, and a brother-in-law Vernon Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Renee; sons Blake (Becky) and Brent (Shelly); sisters Alice (Merrill) Peterson and Fay (Merrill) Hampton; and grandchildren Katelyn, Ashton, Victoria, Dillon and Sydney. Vernon retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, AFS, at the Salt Lake City International Airport in 1992. Following his retirement he spent many enjoyable hours working at the Eaglewood Golf Course. He enjoyed repairing things and the family always knew, "Grandpa can fix that". Prior to his recent illness, he was an ordinance worker in the Bountiful LDS Temple. He and Renee traveled extensively following retirement, and also enjoyed spending time in Bear Lake and St. George. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the Bountiful 28th Ward, 2285 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday evening, September 7, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and Friday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.
