- Peggy Weber Fredricksen was born on December 4, 1939, in the Denver Hospital to Albert and Elvera (Robertson) Weber. She lived in Colorado until she was about a year old when her family moved to Price. She attended Reeves and Harding Elementary schools, attended Price Junior High, and graduated from Carbon High School with the Class of 1958.
She loved her father Albert (Lefty) Weber dearly who was an excellent carpenter. She loved to work with him and go out on jobs to follow him around as his helper.
She then married Pat Fredricksen on September 11, 1959. Two children were born in Price, Paul (1961) and Penny (1963). The family then moved to Bountiful, Utah in 1966 for Pat’s work with then Utah Power and Light. In 1973, Pat’s job brought them back to Price where she continued to live the rest of her life.
Peggy’s occupation was a wonderful homemaker, and she was always involved with the kids’ activities, serving terms on the PTA, and attending all Boy and Cub Scout activities for Paul, as well as all dance activities for Penny. She cared for her husband in every possible way she could and then some. She tended Ojay Pagano for many years who the family loved dearly and was an extended sibling.
She never met a person with which she did not share a smile and kind word. Her smile was infectious and usually ended up in conversations learning of lives of strangers, always with genuine interest, and making several special friends. She loved animals and she loved kids. She loved antiques and spent many road trips and hours with her husband and daughter going to antique auctions to find glorious and days-gone-by treasures. She also loved to go camping in the mountains, and she and Pat spent many trips relaxing and fishing with their beloved dogs.
Peggy struggled for many years with various auto-immune diseases which took away her livelihood as well as her mobility. But, when asked how she was doing, she was always fine and would never complain. She would say there are people worse off than she was. She was always positive and always grateful. She passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021, at age 81, with her husband and daughter both holding a hand to help her transition to the next stage.
She had a special place in her heart for her beloved nephew, Justin Weber, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Randall and Jerry Weber; parents, Albert and Elvera Weber; son, Paul Fredricksen; and her in-laws, Peter and June Fredricksen.
Peggy is survived by her husband Pat of nearly 62 wonderful years; daughter, Penny; grandchildren; Patrick and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kaibri; and several wonderful nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces, and many great cousins.
She cherished her life-long friendship with Ted and Kelly Pappas and a special friend, Dewey Jarrett, of Moab, Utah. Thanks to her remarkable friend Hairy Bear for all he did for her. The family would like to thank Symbii Home Health and Hospice and especially Aimee Gunter for her years of home health care. Peggy’s infectious smile and personality will be greatly missed by many.
