- "Harry David Busch, 87, passed away in Farmington, on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Life Care Center, with his daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Duke by his side. He was born to David and Katherine Busch, Jan. 24, 1927, in Worland, Wyo.
He married Verna Jean Sprague in October of 1948. Four children were born to Harry and Verna, Shari, Lavonna, Steve and Kevin. Harry and Verna lived in Worland, Wyo., La Junta, Colo., and Rocky Ford, Colo. Their final move together was to Cummings, N.D. They were married for 38 years, until Verna's death in 1986.
In 1988, he married his second wife, Patricia, who also precedes him in death.
Harry worked for Holly and American Crystal Sugar Companies until he retired in 1992.
Harry moved to Farmington, in 2003 because of health issues. He lived at The Bridge, the Bee Hive and finally at Life CareCenter. He was cared for by many, many caring people while in Farmington.
Harry could play the harmonica like a pro, speak German, fix anything and he had a saying or rhyme for everything. He always kept people laughing. He was the sweetest dad and grandpa, until the very end. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. His kind spirit and funny sayings will never be forgotten.
Harry is survived by his children Shari (Duke) Mitchell of Farmington, New Mexico; Lavonna (Steve) Grantham of Fort Collins, Colorado; Steve (Leann) Busch of Broomfield, Colorado; and, Kevin (Annie) Busch of Rocky Ford, Colo. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Runco of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Harry is also survived by Patricia's sons, Allen, Mike and David; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Katherine Busch and his brother, Raymond Busch.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for all of Harry's caregivers over the past 10 years. A special thank you to Dr. Edward Kompare for taking wonderful care of Harry throughout the years he lived in Farmington.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service for Harry will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, ..."
