- "Former Worland resident Gary Sprague, 83, of Discovery Bay, California, passed away on Wednesday, Jan 7, 2015.
Gary was born Sept. 27, 1927 and raised in Worland. Gary graduated from Washakie County High School in 1949 and enlisted in the Navy during the Korean conclict and served on the USS Jason.
In May 1955, Gary and his cousin, Clark Sprague married Alverna and Shirley Miller in a double wedding at the Chapel of the transfiguration located in the Grand Teton National Park in Moose. Gary and Alverna moved to Concord, California in 1956.
Gary was a retired painting contractor. He enjoyed summers spent in Ten Sleep fish and hunting with family and friends and was a devout Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Verna Busch, and brother Irving Sprague. Gary is survived by his weife Alverna and his three children Gary Taz (Debbie Sprague of Concord, California, Tonya (Fontaine) Yrigollen of Discovery Bay, California, and Mark (Jessica) Sprague of Concord, California, two sisters Ka (Dick) Jones of Arizona, and Jackie (Don) Dwyer of Arizona, seven grandchildren, Trezdon, Tiana, Tavin, Athena, Elias, Sierra, and Savannah; three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends."
