- Anna Maria Frerichs, 93, Superior, died Wednesday at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings. Services are pending at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior. Frerichs was born Sept. 20,1900, near Hjorring, Denmark, to Kristen H. and Crete M. Andersen Frederiksen. The family came to the United States in 1907. She attended Highland School. She was married April 16, 1926,at Mankato,to Johannes Henrich (Hans) Frerichs. They lived and farmed in the Mt. Clare, area until 1967 when they moved to Superior. She was a member of the Eureka Club. She is survived by her husband, Hans, Superior,four sons, Alan, Vacaville, Calif., Glen and Gene, Superior, and Robert, Lincoln; one sister Inga J. Tadkin, Lincoln; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Anna Marie Frerichs, daughter of Kristen and Grete Margreta (Andersen) Frederiksen, was born near Hjorring, Denmark, on September 20, 1900, and passed away while a patient in Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska, on January 26, 1994, at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 6 days. In 1907 along with her parents they came to the United States and lived in the Abdal community where she attended Pleasant Ridge and Highland Schools. Before her marriage she had worked in homes in Superior. April 16, 1926, at the courthouse in Mankato, Kansas, she was married to Hans Frerichs. This union was blessed with four sons and one daughter. They lived and farmed in the Mt. Clare, Nebraska, community until 1967, retiring and moving to Superior to make their home. She was a member of Eureka Club and Neighbors Ladies Club. Anna was a wonderful good cook, always baking Danish pastries. She liked to crochet and tat. Her bountiful garden was a favorite pastime and canning its fruit and vegetables was a task she enjoyed. Raising her four sons was a joy to her life, watching them grow and later enjoying her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Margaret Ann Frerichs; and a daughter-in-law, Beulah Frerichs. Survivors include her husband Hans of Superior; four sons, Alan and his wife Betty of Vacaville, California, Glen and his wife Dorothy and Gene and his wife Twilla, all of Superior, and Robert and his wife Roberta of Lincoln; a sister, Inga J. Tadken of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren; and 5 step great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral serices were held Friday, January 28, 1994, at 2 p.m. from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, Nebraska, with Rev. Larry and Peggy Michael-Rush officiating. Music was provided by soloist Carol Shambaugh singing "Sunrise" and "How Great Thou Art" with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Mark Frerichs, Doug Dudley, Richard Kimminau, Wilfred Miller, Neal Hinz and John Rivera. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, NE. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, NE, was in charge of the arrangements.
