- Daughter of Noona Tanner Gaines and Ezekiel Baldwin Gaines of Savannah. She attended Savannah High School and the University of Georgia Extension, Savannah. She married Oliver in 1954 at St. John’s Episcopal Church. They were members of the Savannah Yacht Club and the Cotillion Club of Savannah. She worked as a part time secretary at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, was a volunteer Pink Lady at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital and was recognized with a 25 Year Volunteer Achievement Award. She volunteered as a docent at the historic Isaiah Davenport House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Bacon Schroder, Sr. of Savannah. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Schroder Samoluk, of Atlanta, her son, Oliver Bacon Schroder, Jr. and her grandson, Zachary Ian Schroder, of Savannah; brother, Walter Edward Gaines of Savannah; nieces and nephews, including, Grace Gaines Gattis and Courtney Gaines Fetz, of Savannah, and Ezekiel (Zeke) Baldwin Gaines, III of Richmond Hill; Aage George Schroder III and Christopher Bacon Schroder - both of Florida, and Leighton McRae Schroder of Atlanta.
