  The funeral for Dale Bren, 80, of Chatfield will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Chatfield Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Docken officiating. Burial will be in the Chatfield Cemetery. Mr. Bren died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at St. Marys where he had been a patient for three days. Dale Olaf Bren was born on Feb. 15, 1931, in Toronto, S. D. to Olaf and Edna (Thompson) Bren. He graduated from White High School in White, S.D. On Feb. 11, 1951, he married Sylvia Rymerson in Toronto, S.D. His former addresses were, Brookings, S.D., and Chatfield. Dale was a salesman, banker and realtor. He was a member of the Chatfield Fire Department, Commercial Club, school board, and Rotary Club. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, dancing, bowling, following grandchildren’s sporting events, and watching the Minnesota Twins. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Chatfield; four sons, Gary (Janet); Michael (Debra); Craig (Nina); Philip (Sheila) all of Chatfield; three daughters, Julie (Roger) Ledin of Lakeville; Peggy (Mark) Fratzke of Mankato; Lisa (Matt) Bradt of Chatfield; a Sweden exchange student, Tom Lindqvist of Stockholm, Sweden; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Joanne) and Glen (Vicki) both of Brookings. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Edna Bren. Visitation will be Friday, June 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday, June 25. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield (507-867-4310) is handling the arrangements.
