- "Lois Jean Flannigan, 94, of Marlette, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at Cranberry Park of Milford.
Lois was born on March 16, 1929, to the late Thomas and Christine (Juhl) Morgan. She attended Marlette High School, graduating with the Class of 1946. Lois married Elmer Flannigan on June 12, 1948. They set up housekeeping in Marlette and she lived in that home for the next 73 ½ years. Lois was the longest-standing member of the Marlette Presbyterian Church, joining when she was 14 years old. She was a watercolor artist and her family treasures her beautiful paintings. Lois enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, and playing cards. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Janie (Kevin) Crain; son, Dean (Chris) Flannigan; granddaughters, Jackie and Nikki Flannigan; and sister, Linda (Roger) Williamson.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 68 ½ years, Elmer Flannigan; her parents; and an infant daughter, Patricia Ann.

- "Flannigan Morgan Marlette. June 22 Miss Lois Jean Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan, became the bride of Elmer D. Flannigan. son of Mr, and Mrs. Hiram Flannigan, June 12 in First Presbyterian church with Rev. A. A. Amstutz officiating. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an aqua gabardine box suit with black accessories. Her corsage was of pink rosebuds. Miss Maxine Fellows, Traverse City, Mich., was maid of honor and chose a gray suit with navy blue accessories and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. Miss Linda Morgan, sister of the bride, was ring-bearer. She wore a pink dress with a corsage of pink rosebuds. Lloyd Flannigan assisted his brother as best man. Harold-Flannigan and Lee Flannigan, brothers of the groom, were ushers. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Morgan wore a dusty rose dress with black accessories. Mrs. Flannigan wore a black and white figured dress and wnite accessories. Each wore a corsage of sweet peas. A reception was held in the church dining room for more than 150 relatives, guests and friends. The bride wore a pink linen dress when the couple left for a week's honeymoon in northern Michigan.
