- Jack Arnold Staffeld, born July 17, 1943 (age 72), lifelong Manistee resident, went peacefully to be with his Savior on Friday, November 13, 2015. Jack was the loving son of Arnold Louis Staffeld and Ruth Caroline (Bureau) Staffeld, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Arnold Staffeld and his sister Marlene (Staffeld) Nelson. Jack was a proud graduate of Manistee High School Class of 1961. Jack leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Priscilla Ann (Wiggins) Staffeld, of Manistee, along with sons Richard and Dennis Staffeld, of Manistee, and Timothy (Lynelle) Staffeld of Marne. He also leaves behind three grandsons, Gregory, Luke, and Isaac Staffeld and three granddaughters, RuthAnne, Angela, and Jacklyn Staffeld. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends also survive him. Jack found joy in his life in so many ways. Jack loved fishing, raising his family in the Christian faith, and making cookies with his granddaughters. He loved spending time frequenting his favorite Manistee landmarks, playing cards with friends and family, and making people laugh and smile. The biggest joy of his life was being with his grandchildren, watching them and helping them grow. He loved to tell stories of his fun-filled childhood, listening to country-western music, and dancing to a good polka. He was retired having been an agent for Met Life and Aid Association for Lutheran Insurance Companies and managed a local car wash. Visitation will take place Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Johnson's Funeral Home in Manistee. The family will hold a celebration of Jack's life with a memorial service on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 3:30 pm, with a pre-service starting at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 420 Oak St, Manistee, the Rev. Dennis D. Rahn officiating. A dinner in Jack's honor will follow at Trinity's Parish Hall. Memorials may be given in Jack's name to Trinity Lutheran Church or School in Manistee.
