  "At the age of 99, and the last survivor in her immediate family, Irma Selin passed away on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Hospitality Manor. Born on April 29, 1908 in Manistee, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marie (Jorgensen) Sorensen. She attended schools in Michigan until she was nine when she and her family moved to Kenosha. On November 1, 1929 Irma Sorensen married Harold Selin. Sadly, Harold preceded her in death in 1967. Irma worked for Allen-A Hosiery, and then for many years for Sears when it was downtown on 6th Avenue. After retiring she also worked for Johnston Hardware on 22nd Ave. She was a former member of Baptist Tabernacle Church, and presently a member of St. Marys Lutheran Church. She was blessed with an abundance of talent for knitting. Well into her 90?s she proudly made many beautiful baby sweaters, buntings and afghans which she lovingly gifted to family and friends. Irma loved to cook, enjoyed travel and word puzzles, and adored the companionship of her dog Tryen. Im almost 100! shed say after turning 99. And although she did not live out a full 100 years, she certainly had an incredible life filled with an abundance of love and laughs. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Beverley Quick of Kenosha; her three granddaughters, Patti Maxcy of Kenosha, Becky (Larry) Zarletti of Kenosha, and Wendy (Dr. Scott) Johnson of Madison; ten great-grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Maxcy, Brian (Misi) Maxcy, Michelle Maxcy, B.J. Maxcy, Vinnie (Justine) Zarletti, Gina Zarletti, Mandy Zarletti, Jacob Johnson, Zachary Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson; four great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Maxcy, Zenon Maxcy, Joshua Maxcy, Vincent Zarletti II; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Irma was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Harold Quick in 2001; her brothers, Harold, Marvin, Howard, and Arthur Sorenson; and her sisters, Esther Hansen, Lenore VanWie, and Aileen Boyd. Service: Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Lutheran Church, 2002 80th Street. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation: A visitation for Irma will be hosted on Sunday, November 25th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Church.
