- The funeral service for William E. "Bill" Demmer, 58, Owatonna will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland with the Rev. Dennis Frank officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in the Hartland Cemetery, Hartland.
William died on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 in his home.
William Demmer was born the son of Lester and Norma (Christiansen) Demmer on Jan. 25, 1950 in Albert Lea. He was raised and attended school in Hartland graduating from New Richland-Hartland High School in 1968. Bill entered the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Following he lived in Albert Lea where he owned and operated Video Update. He moved to Owatonna and worked for Slidell in Owatonna.
His passion was riding motorcycle and was a member of the Sons of Silence Faribault Chapter and known as Tusks. He also enjoyed flying, parachuting, parasailing, dancing, jet skiing and snowmobiling.
He is survived by three sons, Xan, Zachery and Corey. all of Rochester; a daughter, Jaala (Jeremiah) Miller of Waseca; his mother, Norma Demmer of Albert Lea; three brothers, Jerry (Julie) of Clark's Grove, Brian (Teri) of Albert Lea, Reed (Jill) of Hartland; a sister, Dawn (Jeff) Hubbell of Phoenix, Ariz. and three grandchildren, Maurela, Bailey and Preston and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Arrangements are with the Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna.
