1906 | "Frille, Eggert, o.1400-1470, Rigsraad, var en af sin Tids betydeligste Mænd. Hans Fader var den slesvigske Adelsmand Christiern Frillevsen, der var bosat i Ribe og døde 1418, hans Moder hed Ermegaard Altena, af en i Fyn indvandret holstensk Slægt. E. F. fik en fortrinlig Opdragelse og studerede 1419 i Rostock. Senere bosatte han sig i Fyn, hvor han o. 1431 fik Oregaard og Birk med Skam Herred i Forlening af Erik af Pommern. Han mistede Kongens Yndest, da han 1438 blev beskyldt for at have knyttet Forbindelser med Hertug Adolf af Slesvig. Vi finde ham derfor ogsaa blandt dem, som tidligst anerkjendte Christoffer af Bajern, af hvem han fik Hindsgavl med Vends Herred i Forlening; da han tillige blev optaget i Rigsraadet, kom han snart til at spille en betydelig Rolle, hvortil hans Evner og Kundskaber ogsaa berettigede ham. Han var en af Kong Christoffers dygtigste Diplomater og anvendtes i saa godt som alle Anliggender, hvortil der krævedes diplomatisk Takt og Skarpsindighed. Efter Christian I’s Tronbestigelse steg hans Indflydelse endnu mere, han blev Kammermester og Befalingsmand paa Kjøbenhavns Slot, men arbejdede ogsaa af yderste Evne for Christians Sag og har særlig medvirket til at faa ham valgt til Konge i Norge. Indflydelsesrig ved Hove, en dygtig Finansmand, der stadig forøgede sit Gods, kom han mere og mere til at træde frem i forreste Række blandt Højadelen, og 1455 lykkedes det ham at faa sin Datter Ermegaard gift med en af de berømte 9 Axelssønner, Philip Axelsen (Thott). Fra nu af indtræder der et Omslag i hans Liv, Fra at have været Kongehusets trofaste Tjener og Støtte, drages han ind i Axelssønnernes snævre Familiepolitik, især efter at han efter Svigersønnens Død 1462 havde overtaget Formynderskabet over sine Datterbørn og dermed Styrelsen af det vigtige Tranekjær Len. Vendepunktet i hans Liv er hans Deltagelse i det bekjendte Møde i Jønkøping i Sept. 1466, hvor Axelssønnerne vedtoge at afsætte Ærkebisp Jøns Bengtsson fra Rigsforstanderskabet og selv træde i Spidsen for Sveriges Styrelse. E. F. beskyldtes for her paa Mødet at have «talt paa Kongens værste», og da han paa Kongens Forlangende nægtede at udlevere Tranekjær Slot og Len, blev Slottet indtaget med Vold. Dette gav Signalet til Axelssønnernes Krigserklæring, Carl Knutssons Indkaldelse til Sverige og Ophævelsen af Unionen. E. F. mistænktes for at staa i Forbindelse med Axelssønnerne, og da han tillige vægrede sig ved at underskrive de Vidnesbyrd, som Kong Christian paa alle Landsting i Danmark forlangte angaaende sin Regeringsførelse, blev han indkaldt for Rigsraadet i Kjøbenhavn. Da han her optraadte trodsig mod Kongen og nægtede at stille Borgen for sig, blev hans Stilling uholdbar. Han flygtede i Forsommeren 1468 til Lybek, hvor han som landflygtig opholdt sig indtil Avg. 1469, da det lybske Raad skaffede ham betryggende Lejde til at vende tilbage til Danmark og ordne sit Mellemværende med Kongen. Dette lykkedes ham ogsaa; han fik sit Arve- og Kjøbegods tilbage, men maatte opgive sine Forleninger. Han overlevede kun kort Tid Forliget med Kongen, i det han allerede døde 5. Maj 1470 og blev begravet i St. Hans Kirke i Odense. – E. F. var utvivlsomt en højt begavet Mand, forretningsdygtig, lovkyndig, dannet, snild og praktisk som kun faa af hans samtidige. Men hans heftige, opbrusende Natur bragte ham ofte ind i tvivlsomme Situationer, som han ikke formaaede at rede sig ud af trods sin mærkelige og for sin Tid næsten enestaaende Evne til at finde varme og fyldige Ord for sine Tanker og Følelser. Han var gift med Anne Juel, Datter af den sønderjyske Væbner Iver J. Hans eneste Barn, Datteren Ermegaard, ægtede o. 1465 Bent Bille, og han var saaledes Morfader til den bekjendte Anders Bille (II, 200), der i mange Henseender slægtede ham paa. (Hist. Tidsskr. 5. R. Axel Pedersen Thott lensmand på Københavns slot, 1448 kammermester, bruges de efterfølgende år i en stor del diplomatiske og andre hverv, 1451 lensmand på Københavns slot, som fratoges ham 1454, da han afskedigedes som kammermester, optræder fra 1462 påny i vigtige statsærinder, bl.a. 1466 sendebud til mødet i Kalmar, faldt derefter i unåde på grund af sin forbindelse med Axelsønnerne og måtte 1468 flygte til Lybæk, forligedes 1470 med kongen. 1907 | "Frk, Johanne Grønbech, Nørregade 12, Løkken, er død på Hjørring Sygehus, 83 år. Johanne Grønbech var født i Løkken, og hun var den sidste i Løkken af en kendt slægt, der talte en lang række fiskere og skippere. Johanne Grønbech havde i sine unge år plads som husbestyrerinde på store gårde rundt om i landet, bl.a. på en herregård på Fyn, der ejedes af den kendte kreaturopkøber Ivar Lundgaard, struer, som havde flere store gårde. Hun kom tilbage til fødebyen og hjemmet for mange år siden for at passe sine gamle forældre. Hun var meget kirkeligt interesseret og havde ståsted i det grundtvigske. Hun var medlem af menighedsrådet i mange år og var en flittig og velkommen gæst hos gamle og syge i byen. Hun kendte sin by, egnen og de gamle slægter og var en livlig og interessant fortæller, der på en egen måde var med til at bevare minderne og præge byen Løkken. Hyn var trofast i hele sin færd, holdt kontakt med de mennesker, hun havde plads hos, med de præstefamilier, der har været i Løkken, og mange flere. Sit hus, der var i slægtens eje gennem flere generationer, holdt hun i mønsterværdig orden. En kort tid inden sin død opholdt hun sig hos en søsterdatter Rigmor Knudsen i Skagen, og foruden denne søsterdatter overleves hun af søsteren Asta Knudsen, der bor i Hirtshals." Afdøde, der stammede fra Asdal, havde boet i Hjørring i en lang aarrække, hvor hun paa forskellig maade havde gaaet folk tilhaande. 1909 | "Frk. Sinne Ovesen, Solbakken, Thise er død, 81 år. Sinne Ovesen var født i Skøttrup og havde boet i Vittrup næsten hele sit liv. For fire år siden tog hun ophold på Solbakken i Thise. Sinne Ovesen tog i sine unge år ud med symaskinen og syede for folk. Ved en søsters død for mange år siden tog hun ophold hos svogeren og tog sig af hjemmet og fem børn, som hun forunden at passe også syede alt tøjet til, da de var små. 1910 | "Fru Anna Kjeldsen, Højene er død på Hjørring Sygehus, 86 år. Anna Kjeldsen var opvokset på Søndergård i Gjurup, og i 1918 blev hun gift med Tømrer Chr. Peter Kjeldsen. Anna Kjeldsen var medhjælper på forældrenes kro i Ry, og hendes mand passede sit tømrerarbejde. Senere flyttede parret til Vellingshøj, hvor de drev en tømrervirksomhed. Anna Kjeldsen var meget flittig i huset og som medhjælper for sin mand. I 1945 flyttede Anna og Chr. Peter Kjeldsen til Højene. Sønnen, Søren, overtog virksomheden. Han døde i 1974. Anna Kjeldsen var meget aktiv lige til sin død. Hun lavede mange håndarbejder og hun var meget glad for at få besøg af venner og familie. Chr. Peter Kjeldsen døde juleaften 1981, og Anna Kjeldsen overleves af tre børn. Edith er købmand i Smidstrup, Aksel har arbejde på Pedershåb, Brønderslev, og Ella er sygemedhjlæper i Frederikshavn." 1911 | "Fru Astrid Martine Poulsen, Palleskærvej 31, Hjørring, er efter et halvt års sygdom død, 63 år. Fru Poulsen var fra Bjergby og mistede tidligt sine forældre. Mens moderen levede og var syg, var hun hjemme sammen med en broder for at passe hjemmet og pleje moderen. Hun blev gift med Svend Poulsen og de fik en landejendom i Bjergby og senere ejendomme i Harken og Hørmested. For en halv snes år siden flyttede familien til Hjørring og Svend Poulsen fik arbejde hos Vennelyst. Astrid Poulsen var vant til at hjælpe både inde og ude og hendes interesse var børnene og senere børnebørnene. Ægteparret bosatte sig i Sæsing, hvor de drev landbrug. For en halv snes år siden solgte de jorden men blev boende. For tre år siden døde Kristian Andersen, og for nogle få månede siden kom Dorthea Andersen til Hjørring. Hjermitslev, hvor hun er opvokset, og som ung tjente hun rundt omkring på gårdene. I 1920 blev hun gift med Adolph Westergaard, og umiddelbart derefter flyttede parret til Syd Dakota i USA, hvor de slog sig ned som farmere. Her blev de fleste af børnene født. I 1931 rejste de hjem med otte børn og købte Teglgården i Stenum, som de drev i henved 28 år. I 1959 flyttede de til Vrensted by, hvor de har bygget hus. Her fik de en række gode år, hvor de ofte tog ture sammen i bilen og besøgte venner og familie. I 1972 mistede hun sin mand. Hun efterlader sig syv børn. En søn døde for ca. 4 år siden. 1915 | "Fru Esther Høngaard, Sønderskov, fylder i morgen, lørdag den 17. august 80 aar. Fru Høngaard er født i Sindal, og kom for ca. 60 aar siden sammen med sin mand, tømrer- og murermester Chr. Høngaard til Sønderskov. I 1940 mistede hun sin mand og stod ene tilbage med 11 børn. Hun drev i mange år forretningen videre, og foruden at passe den og hjemmet havde hun ogsaa tid til at lave fine haandarbejder. Hun bor nu hos en søn og svigerdatter i Sønderskov, og trods alderen er hun fortsat rask og interesseret i tidens problemer. Fødselsdagen fejres sammen med børn og børnebørn paa Hotel Sindal." 1917 | "Fru Marie Christensen, St. Kirkestræde, Hjørring, er død på Hjørring Sygehus, 89 år. Marie Christensen er født i Hjørring, og i tyverne blev hun gift med glarmester Chr. Christensen. Ægteparret har boet flere steder i Hjørring blandt andet på Møllevej og Klokagervej, inden de for omkring 30 år siden flyttede til St. Kirkestræde. her døde Chr Christensen i 1965. Marie Christensen har være meget aktiv livet igennem. Hun var en dygtig kogekone gennem mange år, og hun tog livligt del i aktiviteterne i flere foreninger. Der var blandt Kathrineklubben og Vendelboklubben, og hun var æresmedlem af Hjørring Pensionistforening. Desuden var hun i flere år deltager i Højskoleophold i Sønderborg. I forsamlinger var det ofte Hende, der tog ordet. Marie Christensen overleves af to sønner, Poul Christensen bor i Hjørring og Arne Christensen i Hillerød." 1919 | "Fru Thomine Marie Ovesen, Harald Fischersvej, Løkken, døde i nat efter lang tids sygdom, 70 aar gammel. Ved sit giftermaal med Jens Ovesen flyttede hun med ham til en ejendom i Skøttrup. Her var hun sin mand en flittig medhjælp og hjalp til med alt ved landbruget. Desuden var hun en meget benyttet kogekone, altid venlig, smilende og gæstfri. For godt to aar siden flyttede ægteparret til Løkken, hvor hun for godt et ar siden blev syg. Men hun bevarede sit gode humør og fik ogsaa i Løkken lejlighed til at vise sin godhed. 1921 | "Fru Valborg Gaarden, Jelstrup, er død efter et kort ophold på Hjørring Sygehus, 65 år. Valborg Gaarden var født på Pandrup-egnen, men allede som barn kom hun til Jelstrup, hvor hendes far blev baneformand og moderen stationsbestyrer ved Aabybrobanen. Som ung havde hun bl.a. plads hos pastor Aage Gregersen, og i 1932 blev hun gift med Orla Gaarden fra Hundelev. Parret erhvervede en ejendom i Jelstrup, som i årenes løb blev ramme om et trygt og godt familieliv. Valborg Gaarden var en dygtig og proper husmoder, som brugte sine kræfter på de nærmeste krav. Hun opfattede børnenes hverdag og trivsel med den største opmærksomhed og interesse og var i øvrigt kendt for sin gæstfrihed og evne til at skabe hygge. Hun besad et følsomt sind og var i sine yngre dage kendt for sit glade væsen. Hun overleves af sin mand og to døtre, som begge er gift. Linda er lærer i Brønderslev, mens inger er husmor ved Gandrup. 1926 | "Funeral Service For Mrs. H. C. Nissen Held November 28 Mrs. H. C. Nissen, the former Emily Lucille Peterson, was born at Verdal, Nebraska, on November 26, 1908. She came to Irma from McLoughlin, Alta., with her husband and family in December, 1949. Because of poor health her activities in the community were limited but those who came to know her in her own home found her a true friend. The beauty of her character showed best in her love of flowers and gardening and her devotion to her home and family. She bore a long and trying illness with patience and cheerfulness and passed away in the Wainwright hospital on November 24. She leaves to mourn, her loving husband, daughter Joan and son Norman; one sister, Mrs. E. Elliott, Madden, Alta.; three brothers, Sidney Petersen, Crammond, Alta., Herman Petersen, Standard, Alta., and Walter Petersen, Camrose, and several nieces and nephews and cousins." Rev. J. David Nelson is officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery. Oscar P. Jensen was born May 22, 1899 at Blair to Soren and Helmine Christensen Jensen. He owned and operated the Oscar Jensen Garage until he sold the business in 1964, at which time he opened a small engine repair business. He married Mattie Stricklett and she preceded him in death in 1952. He married Ethel McMurtrie Campbell in 1953. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bill Jensen, Ricky Jensen, Johnnie Jensen, Elmer Jensen and Rold (Holly) Jensen; and three sisters, Annie Jensen, Amy Sorensen and Adina Raabe. He is survived by his wife, Ethel; five step-children, Jerry Campbell, Olathe, Kansas; Howard Campbell, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; Leroy Campbell, Blair; Bert Campbell, Rogers, Arkansas; and Delores McIntosh of Blair; and one sister, Anna Olsen, Minneapolis, Minnesota. 1928 | "Funeral services for Ernest Andersen, 89, of Blair were held Monday, Feb.2, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery. Mr. Andersen died Friday, Jan. 30, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Ernest W. Andersen was born May 11, 1914 in Blair to John and Ane (Jensen) Andersen. He attended school in Herman, Kennard and Blair. On March 12, 1936, he married Hazel Lorsch in Logan, Iowa. The couple lived in Blair their entire life. Mr. Andersen worked for the Blair Lumber Company for 40 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blair. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pat Neuman of Omaha, and Phyllis and Russell Puffer of Herman; 10 grandchildren and their families; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Andersen of Seward. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Fees; a grandson, Kevin; two sisters, Doris and Betty Andersen, brother, Clarence Andersen, and a son-in-law, Bill Neuman. Mrs. Danielmeyer died Friday, Jan. 25, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. Ethel Danielmeyer was born Jan. 18, 1909, in Washington County to Andrew and Kristine (Nielsen) Hoier. On Feb. 14, 1933, she married Henry Danielmeyer at the Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Mrs. Danielmeyer was a baker at the Village Inn in Blair, and also worked in the janitorial department at the Arlington Public Schools for nine years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She is survived by a son, Leroy Danielmeyer, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and LeRoy Dunklau, all of Arlington; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Howard and Earl Hoier, both of Fremont. The couple moved to West Pittsburg, Calif. where she worked in a school cafeteria for several years. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple of the LDS Church. Upon retirement in 1979, they moved to Missoula, Mont. She moved to Worland in 1985 after her husband's death in May of that year. In August 1986 she married Merlin Sessions, and they made their home in Gilette until he preceded her in death in June 1988. She then moved back to Worland. She loved to sew and cook, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many church callings. He was born on January 24, 1925, on the family farm where he lived his entire life before moving into Battle Creek. He was baptized and confirmed in Battle Creek at St. John Lutheran Church. He attended District #14 rural school for eight years and graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1941. He was drafted during World War II in January, 1945, and served in the Navy until July, 1946. He served on USS Isherwood Destroyer for 15 months during that time. He married Evelyn Tarpeng in June, 1949. They lived on the family farm. Evelyn passed away in May, 1978. Richard married Ruth E. Tegeler in 1981. They moved into Battle Creek when they retired in 1992. Ruth passed away in January, 2021. Richard was an active member in his church, serving as an elder, trustee, usher, and counting board member, among other services. He was a member of Legion Post 75 in Battle Creek, and served in the capacity of Vice President for the Madison County Feeders Association. He was also a charter member of the Evergreen Golf Course. Richard was an avid farmer and livestock producer. Richard was a hard worker all his life. In retirement, Ruth introduced him to numerous adventures. They enjoyed traveling with family and friends, playing cards, golfing, fishing, and square dancing. He was an ardent supporter of his grandchildren and great grandchildren attending many of their activities. He is survived by two step children; Carol (Steve) Jessen and Tom and wife Judy Tegeler, four cousins; Ken Bierman, Wayne Wehrer, Jeanie Emry, Art Bierman; seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father; Leo, mother; Alda, first wife; Evelyn, second wife; Ruth, step son-in-law; Steve Jessen and grandson; Kent Tegeler. Her var han i 8 år, begyndelsen som medhjælper, senere som tømrer. Efter hjemkomsten boede han igen hos forældrene, hvor han blev gift og flyttede til Hjørring. I Hjørring fik han arbejde som tømrer, og i 1960 blev han ansat som fængselsbetjent. Et arbejde, han fortsatte med indtil sin død. Hustruen Lilly Gram Henriksen, var igennem flere år dagplejemor og han hodt meget af de små børn, som blev passet i hjemmet. Jeg saa i hans Øjne en stum Bøn om, at en af os paa denne Dag vilde følge ham i Kirke. Ingen af os Brødre rørte os, skønt vi alle var dybt grebne og alle følte, hvad han tænkte. Saa gik han. Jeg ser endnu hans lidt krumme Ryg i Døren – det smærter mig endnu, naar jeg tænker derpaa. Mine Forældres Hjem! De lever endnu begge – gudskelov. Det er det eneste Sted i Verden, hvor jeg føler mig hjemme. Ad en lille frederiksbergsk Sidevej kommer man dertil – borte fra Verden. Alt er uforandret – Tiden staar lykkelig stille. Vi Brødre er nu alle gift, men lever hver for sig, ses saa godt som aldrig.
